How can a person know that he is having high blood pressure, without any medical equipment?

Some people are symptomatic with high blood pressure. They will experience chest pain, headaches, vision changes, neurological defects (such as numbness, tingling, weakness). If you have any of those symptoms you need to see a doctor. You can always go to your local drug store where they have free blood pressure machines set up. Also if you have associated risk factors you may want to get checked up. These include diabetes, previous/current heart disease, smoking, high cholesterol, type A personality.
