Scared Of Medicines?

This sounds silly, but I have always be scared of medicines, why I don't know, I have anxiety disorder so unless thats part of the problem but i'm scared even to take tablets for that, even today I had to get an injection to prevent the flu, I got myself so worked up the doctor wouldn't give me it,

Apart from Asprin I will take nothing else, I have had to suffer, Its the list of side effects most of these medicines have that scares me most I think, I don't really know what it is but i'm just scared of medicines.

Anyone else like this?

Medicines use to scare me when I was younger as well. I found comfort in statistics though, it is very rare to have any life threatening side affects, so if I were you I would do a bit of research on the medications that you are suppose/need to be taking so you can be informed and hopefully feeling assured. You may also want to talk to your Doctor about these, I am sure that he could talk to you. You may also want to look into nature remedies for Anxiety.

Yeah - I am like it too. Haven't found any help for it though. Don't know what exactly has caused it for me, but there have been issues in my life. Like you, I would rather suffer almost anything than take medicines. I can sympathise totally with you. It is a hard place to be.

I think your worrying about taking medication has to do with your anxiety. Maybe if you go see a doctor about your anxiety,
he/she can reassure you about the likelihood of having bad side effects. The doctor should be able to help you manage your worries concerning medication. You and your doctor could start off by having you take a very small dose of something and gradually increasing it. Please get help so you can feel less anxiety.
