Science and yoga, why doctors promote yoga, and do pharmaceuticals play down yoga and claim it unscientific?

ok.. i heard from someone that doctors promote yoga as a way to become healthier... but pharmaceuticals/scientists etc. play it down claiming that it is 'unscientific' etc... any examples of that?

Yes, this dog fight has been going on for quite some time. I do believe there are benefits. The phial is obvious, the spiritual side is some what debatable
