What are pharmaceuticals?

Pharmaceuticals is anything that deals with preperation or manufacturing of drug dosage forms such as making tablets, capsules, suppositories, injections, creams ointments etc.

Things you will have to be concerned with is the chemistry of the drug, the excipients and the packaging because you do not want any of it to react. You want to make sure the drug is stable throughtout the course of it being manufactured to the point it gets to the patient.

An example:
You have a drug:
Will it dissolve? Tablet or liquid
If in liquid: Preservatives, is it an emulsion, do you need surfectants, anti-oxidants
If in solid: What will bind the drug together?
Packaging? Different types of plastics. Will the plastic react with the drug. Is the drug resistant to light, if so you will need an amber bottle. etc etc
