what is the opportunities for working as a pharmacist.

Pharmacists have many types of opportunities once they graduate from pharmacy school.

1. Retail pharmacist. These are the pharmacists that work for CVS, Walgreen's, Rite Aid, etc. They typically have no advanced training, but they work a lot of hours and usually make the most money of all the pharmacists.

2. Clinical pharmacist. These are the pharmacists that work in a hospital or clinic. Within this group are usually several specially trained pharmacists in a variety of disciplines, i.e. cardiovascular, pediatric, chemotherapy, transplant. They often get paid less than retail pharmacists.

3. Research pharmacist. These folks tend to work in university settings and are involved in clinical trials and drug development. They may also work for pharmaceutical companies.

4. Professors. These pharmacists teach the pharmacists of tomorrow.

5. Drug Rep. Someone that works for a pharmaceutical company, typically as a liason between the company and the physicians to promote their drugs.

Both of my parents are pharmacists. If you're talking about benefits some of the benefits are a high salary, great health benefits if they work at a hospital, some get paid double for working on holidays, and usually get to pick what shift they want to work.
