Mauritius Pharmacies - How good are they??

I have friends going to Mauritius for holiday with 2 children. The mother is a complete hypochondriac & insists on traveling with almost the entire medicine cabinet as her kids have allergies, eczema, intolerance to dairy etc.


So what I am asking is for detailed info on pharmacies in Mauritius (preferably in the NW - staying at Le Victoria Hotel) that are well equipped with meds for children such as Calpol etc, incl dairy free milk, yogurts, such as Soya alternatives.

Thermometers etc etc and whatever is normal to have at home.

All help would be much appreciated and ASAP as they fly out in 2 days!!

but that was posted in 2005 and the list of pharmacies, is just that, a list.

hi! yes you have everything in mauritius!
i was born there and just recently moved out (after 25 yrs).
health care is free for locals.
quality of life is a very important part of the life there.
you can tell ur friend to relax.

do you know that when a baby is born, nurses go to visit the mom and the baby at home and see that everything is alright, and they do a weekly, and then later monthly follow-up for each individual case.

oh, i almost forgot, there are always pharmacies open 24hrs around the country. she should not worry abt that. the hotel can give her a list of the phramacies.
