Free prescriptions at 19yrs old?

Im turning 19 tomorrow and am still in full time education at college. I have filled in the neccessary form to let them know im still in full time education. Ive heard that I will only receive a small discount. Is this true. Are there any 19yrs olds having to pay a small amount to their prescriptions?

You will not get them 'free', but will pay the standard cover of about 拢8 per order filled. (IIRC)

This is in line with the rest of the UK population using NHS doctors & pharmacies.

That would depend on the plan that your parents have. I never had to pay anything but the small copay for my prescriptins in college.
Just call the insurance company and ask them. They will know all the details of your plan.

I hope I understand what you mean but it all really depends on your insurance company and where you live. I work in the billing department at a Hosptial in Colorado and it's all different. I would talk to your insurance company. Sorry I couldn't help too much I just wanted to make the suggestion.

If in full time education you can get a form from the post office and fill it in you may need to get it stamped at the college or maybe they even have the form

No, I take it you have filled out an HC1 form to apply for an HC2 certificate which will tell you what you are allowed based on your income. Unless you are working as well as in education you will definately be entitled to free prescriptions. You may have to pay something towards dental care or glasses but again, this depends on your income. The certificate will detail what you are allowed when you get it.
