When need to use pulse oximeter?

I would like to know what kind of application which needs to have Spo2 diagnoistic first? ex. OSA, anesthesia....

From my experience, pulse oximetry is a really useful tool. I use it extensively on the ambulance. It helps me to know if oxygen therapy or nebulizers are helping the patient, and I use it after intubation to continually help reaffirm my tube placement.
In the hospital setting, it's used for continuous monitoring of any patients under anesthesia. It's also used in the clinic setting for any patients complaining of respiratory difficulties.
Hope this helps!

Any respiratory ailments i.e. colds, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc, would benefit from pulse oximetry diagnostics.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for the best answer! Report It
