Which stethoscope would you recommend for a respiratory care student?

Quality: suffice, better, best

The littman master cardiology is well worth the expense. I would be lost without mine. Great sound quality, reliable product even in noisy environments. Make sure that you get it engraved, put a name tag on it and pick an unusual color.

get on allheart.com and find you a good Littman stethoscope and get the best one you can afford.

Get a Littman dude. You can't go wrong. $50-75. Take an infant ventilator circuit and cut it the length of your steth then place it over the tubing as a protective cover. It'll keep your investment protected from neck oils that harden the rubber-they look cooler than those ***** cloth covers. Send me a line if you have any other questions. Have fun in school rookie snot sucker.

Littman no doubt best available today for the money. Get your name on it though or it will walk!Another trick, get a weird color, everyone has black, makes it easier for them to walk too.

Years ago there was a stethoscope available for "high noise situations" called a "Pot Belly" . It was designed for firemen and paras to be used in the field. I'm a school nurse and I wouldn't part with my hot pink Pot Belly, I use it as often as my Littman. (I swear you can hear wheezes with a change of class bell going off!) But I don't know if they are made any more. :-(

Good luck!

any kind would be ok. just make sure you dont mind losing it. they have a tendancy to walk off as soon as you lay it down for 5 minutes.

littman is good, the sound is louder -- range could be $50-$99, there is a littman cardiology stethoscope i would like to buy someday. i think it costs about $150

Go for a littmann cardiology stethoscope, I have a classic and the cardiology is just way better. It'll be worht the extra money, it's about $150.
