What are good stethoscope brands?

I want to buy a new (low priced) stethoscope for school but am not familiar with what are good brands/bad or if there is anything else in regards to that that i should be looking for. I am looking for one preferably under $40 as a small upgrade from a poor quality one I have. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I just found the Littman II SE Lightweight online for $39.99.... it's the one that I have. I use it for blood pressure, breath and heart sounds. I'm very satisfied with it.

i have a prestige medical stethoscope & it works great for me. i think i paid about $25 or $30 for it.

There are no poor quality stethoscopes.
There's abundance of poor listeners.

Spend your time listening with the one you have before investing further.

I've always heard good thing's about the Littmann stethocopes.

I am in nursing school as well. This is my stethoscope and I love it! It is $49.99, which is a little more expensive than 40... but its worth it. Littmann makes the best stethoscopes... ask almost any nurse.

Littmann...will probably cost more than $40, though...but I can't hear with the cheaper models...

most cheap ones will give you all you need, unless you are going to be a Neonatologist.....try a few out before you blow tons of $$$ on expensive ones

Littmann Stethoscopes are know to be great but they are over 50. Make sure that you get one with a bell and a diaphragm.
Some of the heart sounds can not be heard with just the diaphragm.

Sprague Rappaport Stethoscope are cheap and work well for a student.
