i am 53 i've been in the hospital for almost 2 months due to shattered legs and arms [i type with one hand] they are in long hard casts and i am going home soon. i can't move my legs or hip at all If you are planning for a third-party to pay for the chair, a therapist must sign off on the paperwork. In most cases, your local therapist knows both your needs and the local availability. ask hospital staff to put your need on a buliton board same with friends and family, check used stores andsalvation army. I am 48, did the discs in and have spent five weeks in a wheelchair. Its no fun! However if I had the Money, I would invest in the iBot. Normally Occupational Therapists at the Hospital will advise you on what type to get but if you are in plaster, then you will have difficulties at home and all you will be able to do is watch TV. |

It depends on what damage you did to your legs in the first place and how well they have healed. It may be that you have to use crutches once the casts come off. Hope you are back on your feet ...
